About CCVSAR

Your neighbors, trained to rescue.

Chelan County Volunteer Search & Rescue is an independent nonprofit volunteer search and rescue team supporting search and rescue operations under the authority of the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office. People get hurt, people get lost, and sometimes people go missing. That’s where we step in.

People get hurt, people get lost, and sometimes people go missing. That's where we step in.

Chelan County is home to rugged mountains, swift rivers and hundreds of miles of backcountry trail. Each year thousands of visitors come here to hike, climb, ski, raft and explore, and that recreation carries real risk.

CCVSAR was established as part of the Chelan County Sheriff's Office and became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2016. Today we are a team of highly trained volunteers who give thousands of hours each year so that anyone in our region can count on help when they need it most.

Our success depends on rigorous training. Members train every month to sharpen their skills and keep safety the top priority, and a volunteer Board of Directors sets the organization's goals and keeps the team supported.

+ Our People

Board & leadership

CCVSAR is run entirely by volunteers. Our board sets direction and manages the nonprofit, and our unit leaders keep each team trained and ready. You can reach any of them by email.
